Roberto Foglietta began practising Aikido in 1976 in Pesaro and studied with masters M° Tada Hiroshi (IX Aikikai, Shihan), M° Fujimoto Yoji (VIII Aikikai, Shihan), M° Hosokawa Hideki (VII Aikikai, Shihan) and Sensei Nomoto Jun (VII Aikikai, Shihan), and during the seminar he attained the rank of V kyu, taking his first exam with Sensei Fujimoto and in 1981 he attained the shodan.
Since 1982 he has been in Japan several times to practise Aikido at the Honbu Dojo, Master Tada's Gessoju Dojo, and Master Nomoto's Satomi Hakken Kai. Following Master Fujimoto assiduously, both by frequenting the Aikikai Milano dojo, as assistant, and during his numerous seminars in Italy and abroad, he received his 6th dan in 2006.
He now holds the position of Technical Director of the Confederation of Russian Aikido Groups, continuing Fujimoto Sensei's work, and in 2021 he received the VII dan.
